THE LINGO:

  • Vegan /ˈvēɡən/— One who chooses not to consume or use animal products and by-products.

  • Sulfate /ˈsəlfāt/— SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate), SLES (sodium laureth sulfate) and ALS (ammonium laureth sulfate) are powerful and inexpensive lathering agents often found in shampoos. Sulfates can be harmful to plants, animals, and humans, as they absorb into our skin. This is the main reason that we don’t carry any products containing sulfates at Virtue Salon.

  • Paraben /ˈparəben/— Parabens are a group of chemicals commonly used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals that serve as effective preservatives with bactericidal and fungicidal properties. Some research bases show a strong correlation in cancerous tumors and the use of parabens. For this reason, all products used by Virtue Salon are paraben-free, including our hair color.

  • All of our products, beverages, and even furniture are completely free of animal products, animal by-products, and animal testing; our products are also botanically-based. We do our best to maintain standards that promote the healthful and environmentally-friendly priorities of the vegan lifestyle.

  • Nope :) While we don’t require our Team Members to be vegan, it is our shared priority to provide vegan hair services to all, regardless of vegan or non-vegan lifestyles.

  • Yes! We are so glad you asked. For every guest you refer to Virtue Vegan Salon you will receive a $25 account credit once their appointment is completed. Credits can be used towards future services.

    You can now send your friends and family your own unique referral code! Simply login to your online booking account for Virtue Vegan Salon and click on your name. When you use this link your friend will get a $10 credit as well!

  • Virtue Salon kindly asks for a 48 hour notice for any change or cancellation.

    When a No-Show/Late Cancellation occurs, it takes large blocks of time that impact our hairdressers and other guests. When an appointment is missed and we are not notified, you will be charged 100% of your scheduled service. If your appointment is cancelled within 48 hours we reserve the right to charge a fee of 50% of the scheduled service.

    *To cancel or reschedule your appointment, please call the salon directly at 614-725-2329 or 614-400-9590. If you are unable to speak with someone directly, you may leave a voicemail message that serves as your cancellation notice and one of our salon coordinators will get back to you as soon as possible to confirm and offer any additional assistance.

  • Our consultations are complimentary with many of our Hairdressers! Our most senior hairdressers do have a small fee for their time. Each hairdresser will consult with each guest before performing any service. The scheduled consultation service is a more in depth conversation with your hairdresser to talk through hair issues, needs and/or direction. Consultations are strongly recommended for new guests looking to get any hair color service.

  • We do! If you are interested in extensions, please schedule an extension consultation with one of our extension specialists through our online booking below. During the extensions consultation your hair dresser will go over options for our hair type and pricing.

  • Yes! We donate to Children With Hair Loss, a non-profit organization that provides human hair replacements at no cost to children and young adults facing medically-related hair loss. They require a minimum of 8 inches of hair to donate. Please feel free to call the salon with any questions regarding donations. We do not offer any discounts for donations. However, we will take care of mailing your donation to CWHL for you!

  • Many people suffer from gluten intolerance or Celiac disease, while others simply seek to reduce their use of products containing gluten. In some cases, the skin can be sensitive to exposure to gluten. To accommodate these cases, Virtue Salon carries gluten-free hair color options and several gluten-free products.

  • Clintonville:

    We do not have on-site parking. However, there is free & time-restricted parking on High street and any side streets. Additionally, our kind neighbors at Clinton Heights Lutheran Church allow us to use their parking lot during the week. Please note that if the church is having an event, we ask that you please park elsewhere. We encourage all guests to pay attention to parking signs and to be aware that the city has been ticketing recently according to the times on the signs.

    Brewery District:

    We have a small parking lot for guests on the south side of our building. Street parking is available at different time intervals on each street. Please pay attention to the posted signs. Please do not park in our neighboring lots as you may be towed.
